Any marriage brings hope and joy to the newlywed couple and the people in their families. However, not always does every happy marriage last a lifetime. Divorces that never existed in the past have become the commonest feature in today's society. There has been an alarming increase in the statistics in the percentage of broken marriages. This is where a divorce attorney is required.

According to statistics there has been a record of 0.68% divorces in the American population in 2009. This meant there were approximately 3.4 divorces per 1000 people. This was considered a low when compared to previous years. Yet the scenario has changed in the next two years and there has been an alarming increase in the percentage all over again.

The legal procedures involved in processing of any divorce are both complex and extensively time consuming. This has required a charting out of the different probabilities that can possibly govern any divorce. Any couple looking to file for a divorce needs to have an overall knowledge of the laws governing the complex process of divorce litigation.

Divorces could be brought to a settlement through negotiation, mediation, litigation or trial. As is a well known fact that more than 95% of the divorces in America are uncontested cases and resolved mostly out of court. This explains the increased demand of divorce attorneys in the present era.

Here is a brief over view into the types of divorces that have been categorized and involve a procedure unique to each type. The broadest classification that has been used from the initial years of divorce initiation is involving the no-fault and at-fault divorce types.

* No-fault Divorces: This type specifically works on the dissolution of a marriage without the requirement of an allegation of fault on the part of either party.

* At-fault Divorces: This was the traditional procedure of divorce that required either party to make an allegation of fault on the other party citing that as a cause for the request of divorce litigation. The defenses that are available in order to negate a fault divorce are collusion, condonation, connivance, and provocation. The procedure is expensive and mostly unadvised for since divorces are usually finally granted.

In addition to these most common types of divorce procedures, there are summary divorces, uncontested divorces which are the most common in US; and mediated divorces which are also solved outside the court.

The negotiation in any divorce case has to be undertaken by an able divorce attorney. Scottsdale residents have had a limited number of divorces in the area that have been very ably handled by the divorce attorneys operating in that area.
